I have a few limited edition Buoy Boy (Candy edition) pieces on show at this years ZeST Contemporary Glass Gallery show ‘Winter Glassscapes’. Opens on 8 November…more details here
After a years’ worth of development time working with glass powders, I will be showing new work in a Focus show at Contemporary Applied Arts in London. I have made several large scale kiln formed glass vessels which are extremely delicate, light and even float on water. These pieces have all been inspired by my residency at North Lands Creative Glass last year.
My piece called ‘Handmade – Championing the hand made work’ is a medium kiln formed vessel about 5cm tall with abstract powder design on the outside and an engraved character inside along with a little golden gilding wax, all hung on a stainless steel cord.
I wanted to see how the design would stretch through the slumping process and I love seeing the hands peek out from the vessel.
Exhibiting in the Summer Show at Bircham Gallery in Holt, Norfolk.
The annual Spring Fling Open Studio event this coming Bank Holiday weekend 2- 5 June. New work from my North Lands Glass residency and pieces made whilst on placement at the National Glass Centre.
A good range of sale items will be on display in Corsock Village Hall along with fantastic home cooked treats and teas (open 12 – 4pm)
